Making Every Moment Count: A Practical Guide to Sharing Jesus

Making Every Moment Count:
A Practical Guide to Sharing Jesus
Aminin natin, some stories about evangelism seem a little too good to be true.
"One time, nasa bus ako. The person who sat next to me looked bothered and sad. Wala naman talaga akong balak makipag-usap, pero ayun, I just felt led to start a conversation. Hanggang sa napunta kami sa usapang tungkol kay Jesus. I shared the gospel to him and praise God, he accepted Christ! Tapos, siya naman yung nag-share sa katabi niya — and the person also accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior! After that, both of them ran to the conductor and told him what happened. The conductor was moved and started preaching over the intercom. Pagdating namin sa destination, everyone on the bus was praising Jesus and had surrendered their lives to Him!"
Unfortunately, moments like this don’t happen every day. Most of the time, we often wait for some big, dramatic moment to lead someone to Jesus. At oo, minsan nangyayari talaga 'yon — but more often, the real impact happens over time. Parang ganito ‘yan… Reaching someone with the Gospel usually isn’t about one big moment — it’s the result of many small, intentional ones over time.
When it comes to people close to us — like family, friends, or even our partners — our influence comes through a series of moments shared together. Sometimes, it takes a whole lifetime of those moments. So the real question is: how can we make the most out of the time we have with them, so that they get to see and experience the goodness and grace of Jesus? Here’s three really practical things to consider:
1. Learn how you can bring up Jesus naturally in regular conversation
As a Christian, you’ve personally experienced the difference that Jesus has made in you. That change shows up in the way you think, speak, and live. So when you're with someone you want to share Jesus with, think about how He’s been working in your life — doon ka magsimula. Just be real and share from the heart how God’s been moving! Here are some examples:
"Nakipag-bonding ako sa mga churchmates ko over the weekend! It was actually really fun! Di ko in-expect na magiging close kami outside of a church setting.”
“Habang nasa biyahe ako papuntang work, I would read the Bible or a Bible plan on my phone. God has really been speaking to me through His word!”
“Kahit sobrang busy at hectic ng schedule ko, God gives me unexplainable peace and the assurance that He holds my future in His hands."
Pay attention to the parts of your life where faith and friendship naturally meet. That’s usually the best place to start a faith conversation.
2. From there, share your story and let God work in their hearts
People can tell if you’re just trying to "change" them. Truth is, you don’t need to convert everyone you talk to. You don’t! Instead of seeing them as “projects,” see them as people to genuinely love. The Gospel shines more through genuine friendship — sticking with people through the highs and lows — than just aiming for a ‘successful’ sharing moment. Remember, Jesus loved Peter fully, even knowing he would deny Him. That’s the kind of love we’re called to show too. (Luke 22:34-38). So, ano ang pwede nating gawin to be more like Jesus in our relationships? We can love people. Not for their pending salvation, but because Jesus loves them.
3. Remember, it’s a life-long marathon, not a sprint — so stay rooted in prayer and the Word
It takes more than one conversation for someone to care about Jesus, so there’s no need to feel pressure to get it “just right” every time.
Think of salvation like a blooming flower. Your relationship with this person might still be at the seed stage — But every small moment, conversation, or prayer is like watering that seed and giving it sunlight. Hindi agad-agad makikita yung bunga, pero paunti-unti, may growth na nangyayari. That’s why it’s so important to stay connected to Jesus — the true source of life. It’s hard to talk about Him meaningfully if your own relationship with Him is drying up. Worship, reading the Bible, and spending time in prayer help keep your relationship with Jesus alive and growing. And when you're close to Him, talking about Him feels more natural.
Sometimes, sharing Jesus can feel like a big task — but remember, it's not about one big moment. It's about the little ones along the way. Every intentional moment — whether in conversation, kindness, or prayer — can help lead someone closer to experiencing who Jesus really is.
So here’s something to think about: Who in your life can you start being more intentional with today? How can we make the most of those little moments that point people to Jesus?
